First Friday is this Friday May 4th!

Hi, it’s been a long time since we’ve had activity outside our shop work…but here we go!

This Friday we are steppin’ out on the town. Downtown Spokane! First Friday May. Our friends at Vintage Hill Cellars have been so kind to us and have offered us another night to hang out and show some of John’s new stuff. I am bringing a few things I’ve been working on as well I’m pretty sure it is going to rain Friday, but the good news is their space is so cozy and warm. I am pretty sure their latest release will be available for a taste. It’s an 07 Cab Franc and I have sipped some myself. All I can say is WOW. The last I heard they were getting ready to label it so I really hope they did! You can check them out on Facebook too just like us! Give us a like Or sign up on our site for E-mails. Grab an Inlander this Thursday as well to see other wineries you might want to visit.

Sneak Peak of New Bar Stool

OK – I have been working on some new items. The first is this new bar stool with back. I tested this out and it is really comfortable. The picture is before the final shape is cut and with no finish. The second is the dog bed. My dogs currently use one and they love it. I thought I would see what you all think. Give me some feedback. I will post more pics as items are complete.

OK – Here it is – the moment you have all been waiting for. The secret message is “Think Spring”. WOW is that original or what. It is kind of a let down. So for those of you who need the adventure of a really cool secret phrase try this one. Either one will work. We might just get a glimps of who you are by the secret message you tell us. Here goes – “The well has no bottom”.

Changing tires – Easy – Sure

I got a call the other day from someone who needed help changing a tire. I said sure no problem(I have changed countless tires in my life). I decided I would bring my oldest along since he is home on leave. We arrived with my floor jack and impact wrench set – ready to bust this out. My son removed the old wheel and tire and came to the back of the vehicle where I was still fumbling horribly with the mechanism that is supposed to lower the tire from its hiding spot. So I went to my truck and looked at the mechanism to release the tire and how simple it should be. Then went back to the other vehicle and found that the people who made this mechanism were from a different planet! I wonder do the people who design spare tire mechanisms actually test them? I am not one to give up – however daylight was fading and the temperature was cold so we threw the old tire in the Ford and got the tire repaired to put back on the Chevy (usually how it works). All this time I kept thinking of when I had my first Mustang and the spare tire was simply placed under the carpet in the trunk with the jack placed ever so tightly inside the spare. It might have taken a few attempts to put the jack back properly but you didn’t need a smart phone and a factory trained rep to put it away. The funny thing about this is that when I teach my kids to drive I make them change a tire before they get their license. What I really need to teach them is how to find the spare and get it out.

Sunset Wall

I just got an E-mail this morning from a really cool gal we’ve met a few times down at Vintage Hill. She was inspired by one of John’s art pieces. It turns out that Jocelyn has traveled with her mom to many places around the world, which is so amazing to me because I’ve only been to Canada once. I just love that they go together two women out to travel the world!! I love it.

While they travel Jocelyn takes beautiful pictures of the sun setting or rising. When she saw the the reconstructed barrel head it reminded her of a sunset. She told me what her idea was and I could see in her eyes that it was going to look cool all together, however I couldn’t see in her head and I don’t have a knack for visualizing. Well it turned out awesome! Here are the pictures she sent us and I love that she saw this when she first saw the piece.

It is inspiring as well that she took it and made it her own. Thank you Jocelyn for sharing these pictures.

Spokane Wineries ValenWine Weekend

This weekend is the ultimate romantic weekend! Valen Wine weekend. Celebrate Valentines day at all 19 Spokane Wineries. If you follow my regular post it should come as no surprise that my favorite winery is Vintage Hill. No it isn’t just because we have some of John’s art there. It is because I love their wines. Every. Single. One of them.

We had a lot of fun last Friday. Thanks for coming out and supporting the Spokane Visual Arts Tour. Thank you again to Vintage Hill for letting me have my art displayed in their awesome space. Jen and I absolutely loved meeting everyone who came out.

We are gearing up now for our next sale, March 3rd from 9-5!
